Three Tree North

Three Tree North - Burien

Dive Site Description:

This is one of my favorite dive sites. The old junkyard holds a lot of life at this site. There are a variety of small critters, there is a resident wolf eel, and occasionally, a transitory octopus. There are the usual fishes, and I have heard reports of a couple of infrequent six-gill sightings.

Trying to find a parking space can be a challenge here, so get here early or be prepared for a short hike.

Directions:
  • Take I-5 North or South (or 405) to Highway 518 West toward Burien.
  • Take 518 west (4 or 5 miles) to the SW 148th Street exit, follow it about 8 or 9 blocks
  • Take a left (south) on Ambaum Boulevard, go about 4 blocks
  • Take a right (west) on SW 152nd Street
  • Follow SW 152nd Street as it turns left and goes down the hill - it will become Maplewild Ave.
  • Follow Maplewild Ave.
  • Turn right on SW 170th Street.  Park at the end of SW 170th Place.
Important Note: A night dive here means we will be here longer than the law allows. People aren't supposed to park there after dusk.
