Ed Gullekson, Chuck and Kyle Barrett, Randy Pedersen, and Pieter Booth met for the first dive at 4:00 P.M. Standard Dive 1 was in order for all. There was lots to see on this very chilly evening. A GPO and stubby squid were spotted by Ed and Randy. Chuck was busy playing with a red octo when a spotted gray torpedo came out of nowhere and snatched it up. This very un-shy harbor seal bumped my tank, nearly rubbed up a against me by the logs, and kicked Ed in the head. Not very nice when we were making it so easy for it to feed. Also spotted were two very large lings sharing space with a GPO under the Honey Bear, decorated warbonnet in log, and quite a few large spot prawns. After about a 70 min. surface interval, new arrival Mike Snow joined Ed, Randy, and Pieter for a second dive. You know you have a "diving problem" when you're eager to get back into the 44 degree water do you can "warm-up"! The second dive was at a low tide so we had to be pretty careful on our entries and exits, but a good time was had by all. Pieter, Randy, and Ed met other regulars at the Alki Tavern for "Whimpy burgers" (I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today) and some Moose Drool (I didn't name the beer, eh).
