COTM for 6/22 to 7/20

The COTM (critter of the month) has been an orange sea cucumber. We had a record number of divers, 10, find one or more over the last month, here is the list: Gary SchnaithDan RitchieMarcus KrugerKen EngelmeyerEd PearsonAlex PearsonPieter Booth, Kyle Kyle O'GradyDavid Wakeley and me. Way to go to all! The COTM for the next month (6/23-7/20) is the southern rock sole. This right-eyed flatfish is common at many of our local dive sites. I have seen them at 3 Tree Point North, Cove 2, Alki Junkyard, Redondo and more. They seem to just now be moving up to diving depths and I’ve seen multiples of them to turn in on my REEF (reef.org) fish counts. They do have some variation in coloring.
