Cove 2 dive report

posted Dec 3, 2013, 9:48 PM by Ed Gullekson
Two of us made the Cove 2 dive tonight. Pieter Booth and Ed Gullekson geared up in the cold and looked at the murky water with high hopes. The wind was pushing the waves onshore in the cove as we waded in. The surface water to 10 feet was murky, but below that it opened up to 20 feet vis. We found a big ling under the plates, and rockfish at the rock piles. The seals (2) followed us around. At one point a small one laid on the bottom in front of Pieter. On the loges we saw 3 decorated warbonnets (juvies) and at HB a very big GPO was in residence. It was curious enough that it reached out to my gloved hand while we were close and peering into the den. Water temp was about 50. More sea stars are dying.
