All:  Dave W. and I participated in this last year and it was a lot of fun.   Let's see how many Sea Horses we can get to join this very worthwhile effort.  Its a lot of fun and great to share in the camaraderie of the dive community.

Subject: Project AWARE "Dive for Debris" Day on September 14th

Come join us for a Project AWARE “Dive for Debris” Day on September 14, 2013 as we clean up Leschi Sailboat Moorage, situated on Lake Washington just north of Daniel's broiler.

Participants will receive:

  • Northwest Diving Tri-color Embroidered Patch
  • Free Air Fills
  • BBQ and More

Leschi Sailboat Moorage (North) is a freshwater site with visibility averaging 25 feet. The maximum depth is 45’.

Participants will meet at the Northwest Diving Institute in Bellevue on Friday night, September 13, 2013 for a cleanup briefing 7:00–8:30 PM (pizza and soft drinks provided) and to meet your teammates and leader. Bring your tanks for complementary air fills or rent tanks as needed.

The next morning we’ll meet at the moorage to go over a final briefing (coffee provided). We’ll then break into dive teams (each led by a divemaster or higher) and perform the cleanup. Please plan on staying afterwards for a free BBQ hosted by the Northwest Diving Institute.

You must be a certified diver (divemaster or higher to lead a team) and provide your own gear (except air). Lots of non-divers are needed for surface support and waste handling.

The cleanup is free but advance registration is required. To register, visit http://www.nwscuba.org/event_description.php?event_id=50330 (create a profile as needed and include your certification level).

Hope to see you there!

Kind regards,
