Dive Report for 3 Tree

posted Aug 28, 2015, 8:52 PM by Ed Gullekson
We saw the end of an important process today. Olga octopus is nearly dead. She is just barely moving or breathing. She is not tending her eggs. Most of the eggs look to have hatched, though a very few look like larvae are about to pop out (see photo). Michael P. Snow and I did 2 dives at 3 Tree today and visited Olga on the first dive. Vis was really good on the first dive, about 25 to 30 feet. It got worse as the tide flooded in the 2nd dive. You can see photos on our FB page.
