Jim Trask is the President of the Washington Scuba Alliance and has been serving with WSA for the past 11 years. WSA is a group of divers, dive business owners and dive club leaders who protect the rights and access to dive sites by lobbying policy makers in Olympia and help protect and create opportunities for more diver access in the future.  Jim was instrumental in creating safer diver access by installing stairs in the Tacoma Les Davis Marine Park and installing 13 mooring buoys at dive sites throughout Washington State. Please join us as we hear Jim tell us about WSA’s current plans to assist Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in removing sea life from creosote pilings and possible transplantation of that sea life to nearby artificial and natural reefs. WSA will also do the same for tire reefs which will also be removed in the near future. WSA has created a "Best Practices" program to safely remove the sea life from the pilings and tires. This has not been done anywhere else in the world.  WSA currently has several plans for seven new artificial reefs in Washington State.

Rick Stratton, Publisher of Northwest Dive News for the past 20 years is currently publishing a new Dive Guide. This Dive Guide will be a compilation of articles previously written by or for the Dive News Network and new articles written especially for this guide.  It will be the most comprehensive guide ever written for Northwest diving and cover Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana dive sites. More than 400 sites are included in the book.  Rick is also the founder of the Dive & Travel Expo and Treasure Hunt in Tacoma.  He is moving the show back to Tacoma for 2017 and is reformatting the show completely. Come and hear how Rick tells us some exciting news about the reformatted show and what great deals it will offer divers of the Pacific Northwest.

Rick and Jim will bring prizes to the club meeting for our raffle drawing!

The SCUBA & H2O ADVENTURE SHOW will be held in Tacoma, Washington on March 31 - April 2, 2017 at the Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center
