Photo and Video Contest Update

posted May 14, 2019, 12:11 PM by Editor SeaHorse

Greetings members.

Happy almost Summer. With the return of warmer weather and perhaps even a few more degrees in our local waters, it’s time to dust off the scuba gear (if you haven’t already), charge up the camera, refresh the memory cards, get out and dive and take pictures. Safely, of course.

With that said, our Seahorse Dive Club will hold our annual photo/video contest on October 24th. It will be hosted at the Diamond Knot Brew Pub in Mountlake Terrace (details will be announced later). This is a family event so feel free to bring your spouse, significant other, and kids to enjoy the food, and the incredible videos and photographs that our members will be entering. All attendees will be given the chance to vote.

This year, the categories are:

1) Video – this includes both video and multimedia presentations.
2) Above Water Dive Related - photographs taken above water that relate to diving
3) Cold Water Macro - photographs taken underwater in below 65-degree water at greater than 1 to 1 scale
4) Cold Water Wide Angle - photographs taken underwater in below 65-degree water at less than 1 to 1 scale
5) Warm Water Macro - photographs taken underwater in above 65-degree water at greater than 1 to 1 scale
6) Warm Water Wide Angle - photographs taken underwater in above 65-degree water at less than 1 to 1 scale
7) Novice - photographs taken by someone who has been doing underwater photography less than 1 year
8) 2019 Special Category: the ever photogenic Grunt Sculpin (see photo example on the FB page).

Special rules and regulations will be announced at a later date.

Mark your calendars and set the time aside.

Happy diving!!!
