Sea Horses Annual Photo Contest - October 22 - online

posted Oct 1, 2020, 9:08 PM by Editor SeaHorse
Happy October everyone.
As you are aware, with the pandemic and the Coronavirus restrictions that were put in place, we have not been able to hold our monthly club meetings as we have become accustomed to. And given that the restrictions are still in place and unlikely to be lifted in the immediate future, we are not going to be having our in-person meeting again this month.
Having said that, we are still wanting to hold our annual photo contest. The only difference will be that this will happen as a zoom meeting rather than the in-person event we all love. And because of this, and the limitations on bandwidth and logistical issues, it will be limited to photo’s only this year. Sorry, no video right now.
So here is how it is going to work….between now and October 16, I will need you to send your photo submission to me via email. I will compile the entries, send out a PDF with all the choices, and ask you to submit your vote via a survey monkey poll that I am setting up. On October 22, we will have our zoom meeting where I will announce the results. Prizes will be awarded later.
The submission should be 1080 x 720 @ 72 DPI. That resolution is high enough to allow for screen enlargement without too much pixilation. Please change the title of your submission to include your name and the category you’re entering. For example “Chris McKenna – Special Category”. When you send me your entry, attach it as a file and not an embedded object in the email. Please send to scubac45@yahoo.com .
Recall the categories for this year…
1. Above water dive related - Pictures taken above water that relate to diving.
2. Cold Water Macro - Pictures taken underwater in below 65 degree water at greater than 1 to 1 scale
3. Cold Water Wide Angle - Pictures taken underwater in below 65-degree water at less than 1 to 1 scale
4. Warm Water Macro - Pictures taken underwater in above 65-degree water at greater than 1 to 1 scale
5. Warm Water Wide Angle - Pictures taken underwater in above 65-degree water at less than 1 to 1 scale
6. Novice - Pictures taken by someone who has been doing underwater photography less than 1 year.
7. Red Octopus – One or more R.O.’s from anywhere.
Official rules are on the FaceBook page.
Thanks and happy diving!
