SOCORRO ISLAND DIVING April 26th

Sea Horses Indoor Meeting for April 26. No-host dinner at 6, Program at 7 PM. Rogue Ales Brew house, 35 W Sunset Way, Issaquah, WA 98027.
Our own Pieter Booth and Dave Wakeley bring you Socorro Island Diving. Socorro is the only inhabited island in the Revillagigedo Archipelago, the "Galapagos of Mexico". These volcanic Islands, 600 km off the coast of Mexico are an oasis for the large pelagics: giant mantas, 6 species of sharks (including whale sharks), dolphins, grey whales, and lots of reef fish. The giant mantas here are known for being very diver friendly, besides being huge. The mantas seek out divers, returning to them dive after dive for attention. Some researchers believe that the mantas enjoy the feeling of bubbles cascading over their bodies, others think that the mantas are actually curious about the divers and enjoy their companionship. Come learn a bit about the ecology of these remarkable islands, how to get out there, and see some of what Pieter and Dave saw. These meetings are open to anyone who is interested.
